Please pray to God for his comfort for the family and friends of Eileen Gilbert, whom God called out of this earthly life to his side in heaven this past Tuesday (Oct. 13) at the age of 96. Many current and former members of St. Andrew remember Mrs. Gilbert fondly, as she was a lifelong member of St. Andrew and taught kindergarten in St. Andrew Lutheran School from 1970 to 1986. In recent years she was a member of our sister church, Good Shepherd Evangelical Lutheran Church in Downers Grove, after having moved to that area. We thank God for the gift of faith in Jesus as her Savior that he gave to Eileen and strengthened in her through his Word, and we pray for her family and friends for the comfort that comes from knowing God's promise of perfect peace, rest, and joy forever with God in heaven through faith in Jesus as Savior -- which Eileen is experiencing now, and which, by God's grace through Jesus, we will join with her and all other believers whenever God calls us. ...
